Job Description

Reporting to the National Business Manager, the Business Development Manager will play a critical role within the broader team to deliver both top line sales and margin contribution budgets by maximising distribution within the Foodservice channel.

The successful candidate will be a driven and dynamic sales professional looking to develop the QLD business by building strong sustainable relationships and leaving no stone unturned for identifying opportunities to grow.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Execute the sales strategy for the state based Foodservice customers and subsequent business plans for key identified trading partners.
  • Control and deliver agreed trade promotional spend for major identified customers.
  • Develop and maintain strong trading relationships with customers to support trade spend control, new line presentations, account reviews, promotional planning, range extensions etc.
  • Establish a call plan to identify monthly, quarterly & annual sales opportunities.
  • Successfully deliver sales budgets and margin contribution as well as distribution and presence of our core Foodservice range.
  • Working closely with our key customers to assist with product pull through and educating end users.
  • Intrastate travel quarterly (North-Far & North Queensland)

Skills and Experience

  • Foodservice experience is paramount across all levels of the foodservice industry – particularly distributors and end users.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in growing an existing customer base and managing to profit.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to influence effectively across cross-functional teams and states.
  • Demonstrated success at delivering mutually beneficial outcomes (Customer & Company).
  • Sound ability to collect, analyse and present complex data and information effectively to support decision making and action planning.
  • Highly developed planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks to achieve objectives and KPIs.
  • Ability to adapt positively to changing conditions or unexpected obstacles.
  • Proven ability to work as an effective member of a diverse team, as well as the ability to exercise independence, sound judgement and initiative by applying critical thinking skills in overcoming obstacles within tight timeframes.
  • Ability to operate at a strategic level and be hands on.
