Key Responsibilities will include:
Supervise and lead a team of Accounts Receivable and Payable officers.
Manage customer accounts within assigned channels and maintain an overview of customer accounts assigned to team members.
Monitor and manage debtors aging to minimise overdue invoices.
Ensure the timely processing of claims within established time frames.
Foster and maintain positive relationships between AR/AP and other stakeholders.
Act as the primary escalation point for issues and concerns related to AR/AP.
Collaborate closely with the Financial Controller to establish specific, measurable, and achievable metrics for the team.
Continuously review and improve processes and procedures for optimisation.
Skills and Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in accounting.
Experience within the FMCG industry is preferred
Experience in successfully managing or leading a team of professionals
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including to build relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
Proven ability to work as an effective member of a diverse team, as well as the ability to exercise independence, sound judgement and initiative by applying critical thinking and lateral problem-solving skills in overcoming obstacles within tight timeframes.
Excellent attention to detail
Prepared to own a process and accept accountability for performance.
Have a keen eye for continuous improvement and the willingness to adapt as required.
Numerate with the ability to understand data and to interpret it in a lateral manner
