About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Senior Accountant to join our growing team. The Senior accountant will act as the 2IC to the Finance Manager focusing on financial reporting including month-end, external statutory reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. This position plays a vital role within the finance team, contributing to enhancing business performance to maximize returns for our stakeholders.
Responsibilities will include:
Assist in the preparation of internal, weekly, and monthly financial reporting and commentary on 2 operating entities, plus a 3rd silent entity.
Monitor and enforce financial controls and procedures ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and internal policies.
Assist with treasury management including daily cash management, monthly cash flow, working capital and FX control and administration.
Monthly review of GL balances and transactions to identify and resolve any internal accounting errors/issues.
Assist with preparation of audit schedules and work with external auditors during annual audits.
Asist with reconciliation of Balance sheet and fixed asset management.
Process and monitor Grower payment calculations ensuring accuracy of the payment pools so that Growers payments are made on schedule and accurately.
Provide guidance and support to finance department staff
Foster a collaborative and positive work environment conducive to high performance and employee engagement.
Skills and Experience
Degree qualified with either post graduate CPA or CA.
Proven experience in a similar finance role.
Intermediate to advanced user of Microsoft Excel
Proven hands-on experience with mid to large ERP systems.
Sound practical knowledge of the relevant tax compliance requirements.
Well-developed analytical and commercial acumen
Strong work ethic with a focus on results, willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities over time
Clear and effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders.
Strong planning and organisation skills, with the demonstrated ability to prioritize fluctuating deadlines.
